Is Pack & Go Movers licensed and insured?

Yes. Pack & Go Movers is fully licensed and insured.

License Numbers:

Are you able to provide Certificates of Insurance (COIs) to my building?

Yes.

If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI), we will gladly provide one at no additional cost once your move has been booked.

Please have your building management send the COI requirements to sales@packandgomoversny.com at least 2 business days before your scheduled move to ensure we have enough time to prepare it.

Does Pack & Go Movers subcontract their work?

No.

Every member of your moving crew is a Pack & Go Movers employee. We never subcontract our moves, allowing us to maintain the quality, professionalism, and customer service we’re known for.

How far in advance should I book my move?

We recommend booking your move 4–6 weeks in advance, especially during busy moving seasons, weekends, and the beginning or end of each month.

Booking early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred move date and time.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes.

We offer free:

  • Virtual estimates
  • Photo & video estimates
  • On-site estimates
  • Commercial walkthroughs

Our goal is to provide the most accurate quote possible with no surprises on moving day.

Does sales tax get added to my moving rate?

No.

Moving services are not subject to New York State sales tax.

Booking & Payment

Do you require a deposit to book?

Yes.

  • Flat Rate Moves:10% deposit
  • Hourly Moves:Payment for the 3-hour minimum is required at the time of booking.

Deposits are securely collected online using any major credit card and are applied toward your move balance.

What payment methods do you accept?

A credit card is required for your booking deposit.

On moving day, your remaining balance may be paid using:

  • Cash
  • Zelle
  • Major Credit Cards
  • Financing via Wisetack

We do not accept personal checks.

When do I pay?

The remaining balance is collected upon arrival at your destination address or before our office closes on moving day, whichever comes first.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deposits are fully refundable if you cancel within 7 calendar days of making your deposit.

If your move is scheduled within those 7 days and you cancel, your deposit is non-refundable.

After the 7-day cancellation period has passed, all deposits are non-refundable.

Can I reschedule my move?

Yes.

Your first two rescheduling requests are free.

Beginning with your third request, a $25 administrative fee applies for each additional reschedule. All rescheduling requests are subject to availability.

Moving Day

What time should I expect the movers to arrive?

Morning appointments generally arrive closer to the beginning of the scheduled arrival window.

Afternoon appointments may occasionally be delayed if earlier jobs require additional time. If delays occur, our office will keep you informed as soon as possible.

An adult customer or authorized representative must be present for the entire move.

How many movers will be assigned to my move?

Crew size depends on the amount of furniture and boxes being moved.

Our moving crews typically range from 2 to 9 movers, and we assign the crew size necessary to complete your move safely and efficiently.

How big are your moving trucks?

Our trucks range from 16-foot to 26-foot box trucks.

Truck size is determined by the amount of inventory being moved to ensure everything fits safely and efficiently.

Can I ride in the truck with the movers?

No.

For insurance and safety reasons, customers are not permitted to ride inside company vehicles.

What happens if I have more or fewer items than were quoted?

Please let us know as soon as possible if your inventory changes.

Adding or removing items may require:

  • A different truck
  • Additional movers
  • Additional labor time
  • A revised quote

Updating your inventory before moving day helps us avoid delays and ensures your move goes as smoothly as possible.

What happens if the truck receives a parking ticket?

Parking tickets issued to our trucks are our responsibility and will never be added to your bill.

Can bad weather affect my moving day?

Light rain or snow typically will not affect your move. Our crews arrive prepared with protective moving equipment to keep your belongings safe.

If severe weather creates unsafe conditions, we may delay your move or reschedule it to the next available date for the safety of both our customers and employees.

Is tipping included?

No.

Gratuities are never included in your quote.

Although tipping is not required, it is always appreciated if you feel your moving crew provided exceptional service.

How much should I tip my movers?

Tipping is completely optional.

Many customers choose one of the following guidelines:

  • 15–20% of the move total
  • $5–$8 per hour, per mover
  • Small Moves (4 hours or less): $20–30 per mover
  • Medium Moves (5–7 hours): $30–40 per mover
  • Large Moves (8+ hours): $50–60 per mover

Packing & Preparation

Do you offer packing and unpacking services?

Yes.

We offer both partial and full packing services as well as unpacking services.

Our professional packers arrive with all necessary boxes and packing materials to safely prepare your belongings for transportation.

Can I pack my own boxes?

Yes.

However, customer-packed boxes and bags are not covered under our cargo valuation protection because we cannot verify how they were packed.

For maximum protection, we recommend allowing Pack & Go Movers to pack fragile or valuable items.

Should I empty my dresser drawers?

Yes.

All furniture should be emptied before moving day.

The only exception is when you have purchased our packing service, in which case our movers will pack dresser drawers and cabinets as part of the service.

Refrigerators, freezers, and all perishable food items must always be emptied by the customer.

Can you provide moving boxes?

Yes.

We offer a variety of moving boxes and packing supplies, including:

  • Small Boxes
  • Medium Boxes
  • Large Boxes
  • Wardrobe Boxes
  • Picture Boxes
  • Packing Paper
  • Furniture Pads
  • Mattress Covers

Absolutely.

Furniture & Specialty Items

Is furniture wrapping included?

Yes.

Furniture protection, padding, and wrapping are included with every move to help protect your belongings during transportation.

Do you disassemble and reassemble furniture?

Basic furniture disassembly and reassembly are included with our Standard and Supreme move packages.

Examples include:

  • Beds
  • Dining Tables
  • Couch Legs
  • Large Furniture

Do you move pianos?

Yes.

We professionally move:

  • Upright Pianos
  • Baby Grand Pianos
  • Grand Pianos

Additional specialty handling charges apply depending on the type of piano.

Can movers unmount my television?

Yes.

Our movers can safely remove your TV from its wall mount and prepare it for transport.

Please note:

  • We do not reinstall televisions.
  • We do not remove or install wall mounts.

Can movers remove my window air conditioner?

No.

Window air conditioning units must be removed before our crew arrives.

Will you disconnect appliances?

No.

Customers must disconnect all water, gas, and electrical connections before moving day, including washers, dryers, refrigerators, and other appliances.

Storage

Do you offer storage?

Yes.

We provide secure, climate-conscious warehouse storage for both residential and commercial customers.

How is storage billed?

Storage agreements are month-to-month.

Monthly billing begins on the day your belongings enter our warehouse and automatically renews each month until delivery is scheduled.

What items cannot be stored?

For everyone’s safety, we cannot store:

  • Food
  • Paint
  • Propane Tanks
  • Gasoline
  • Fireworks
  • Hazardous Chemicals
  • Fertilizers
  • Radioactive Materials
  • Tires
  • Flammable Liquids

If you’re unsure about an item, please ask your moving consultant before moving day.

Protection & Claims

What happens if something is damaged during my move?

Every move includes Released Value Protection at no additional cost.

Customers may also purchase Full Value Protection for more comprehensive coverage.

Coverage is subject to the terms of your Cargo Valuation Agreement.

I unpacked a box and something inside is broken. Will you replace it?

Items packed by Pack & Go Movers may be eligible for valuation coverage, subject to your selected protection option.

Customer-packed boxes and bags are not covered because we cannot verify how they were packed.

What items are NOT covered under valuation?

Valuation does not cover:

  • Customer-packed boxes or bags
  • Particle board furniture
  • Internal electronic failures
  • Existing damage
  • Items not listed on your inventory
  • Undeclared high-value items

Please refer to your Cargo Valuation Agreement for complete details.

How do I file a claim?

Claims must be submitted in writing within 90 days of your move.

Customer Responsibilities

Should I move my jewelry and important documents myself?

Yes.

Customers should personally transport:

  • Jewelry
  • Cash
  • Passports
  • Birth Certificates
  • Medications
  • Important Financial Documents
  • Keys
  • Other irreplaceable valuables

These items should never be packed onto the moving truck.

Can movers transport pets?

No.

Customers are responsible for transporting all pets and live animals.
